The State Housing Commission resumed this land in the early 1950s for the Mirrabooka regional centre and had Westminster developed to capacity by 1970. The result is one of the most consistent housing stocks in the northern suburbs: single-storey double brick and brick veneer on strip footings, timber roof framing under tiles, timber floors in the earliest homes and sand-fill slabs in the rest.
