Kallaroo was rezoned for housing in 1969 and built out through the 1970s around Springfield Primary School and the shops on Bridgewater Drive. That first generation is double brick and brick veneer on strip footings with timber roof framing, now more than forty years old, and it is where most of our termite work in the suburb sits. West of Dampier Avenue the Northshore precinct went up in the mid to late 1980s on younger dune sand, with more slab-on-ground construction and cavity brick. The Whitfords Nodes foreshore reserve and the coastal dune between the shared path and the beach are the suburb's main wildlife corridor.
