Duncraig was developed through the 1970s and 1980s, and the original stock is mostly double brick and brick veneer with tiled roofs on timber framing. It has been one of the busiest suburbs in Perth for knock-down rebuilds, so a single street can have a 1975 brick-and-tile next to a two-storey home built last year. Both get pests, for different reasons: the old house has timber framing, established gardens and a roof that has settled and opened up; the new one has a slab with plumbing penetrations, fresh garden beds and neighbours whose termites did not go anywhere.

I have just bought a rebuilt home in Duncraig. Do I still need termite inspections?
